New York City—Israeli singer-songwriter Ishay Ribo delivered a powerful performance at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, September 15th (12 Elul 5784), captivating a sold-out crowd of 15,000. It was a Taylor Swift-like success, with some tickets selling for $2,200. Joined by special guests Idan Raichel and Eviatar Banai, Ribo presented a memorable concert that blended contemporary and traditional Jewish music.
The concert was marked by a poignant atmosphere in solidarity with the 97 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza since October 7, 2023. This was Ribo’s second consecutive performance at Madison Square Garden (the first being in 2023), making him the first Israeli musician to achieve this feat at the iconic venue.
«Bring Them Home!»
One particularly moving moment occurred during Ribo’s performance of «Porchim Leshuvam» (Flying Back Home). Midway through the song, after singing the words «return our captives,» Ribo paused, turned to the parents of hostage Omer Neutra, and led an emotional prayer for their son’s return home. The arena-sized audience stood, applauded, and erupted in chants of, «Bring Them Home!»
Ribo’s gesture was a powerful demonstration of solidarity and hope, highlighting the deep connection between the Israeli people and those held captive. The concert served as a platform for unity and a reminder of the ongoing struggle for peace and justice.

Ribo’s setlist included a mix of his own original songs and traditional Jewish prayer hymns, adding a spiritual dimension to the concert. His powerful vocals and emotive performances resonated with the audience, creating a sense of connection and shared experience.
Special guests Idan Raichel and Eviatar Banai brought their unique talents to the stage, contributing to the diverse and dynamic nature of the concert. Raichel’s multicultural approach to music, blending Hebrew, Arabic, Amharic, and other languages, added a global flavor to the performance. Banai’s introspective lyrics and emotional delivery further enhanced the concert’s emotional impact.
Ribo’s performance at Madison Square Garden cemented his status as one of Israel’s most beloved and respected musicians. His ability to connect with audiences on a deep level, through both his music and his message, continues to inspire and captivate fans around the world.
