JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – The Leviev family is mourning the tragic loss of Yoel Leviev, z”l, 24, the grandson of renowned businessman and philanthropist Lev Leviev. The young doctor was killed in a bicycle accident on Monday evening in Yehud, Israel.
Yoel, a recent graduate of medical school in Europe, was struck by a car while riding an electric bicycle on Weizman Street on Monday, October 14. Emergency responders rushed him to Tel Hashomer hospital, but despite their best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The accident has sent shockwaves through the Bukharian Jewish community, as Yoel was a prominent figure in the family’s business and philanthropic endeavors. His grandfather, Lev Leviev, is the president of the World Bukharian Jewish Congress and a major donor to charitable causes.
The funeral for Yoel Leviev will be held on Tuesday, October 15, at 4:00 PM at the Har HaMenuchot Funeral Home in Jerusalem.
