COJECO, the Council of Jewish Émigré Community Organizations, will host a special dance event on Thursday, November 21, titled “Jewish Innovators of Dance,” to celebrate the artistic contributions of three iconic Jewish choreographers: Anna Sokolow, Ida Rubinstein, and Ohad Naharin. The workshop, presented by New York-based choreographer and educator Tatyana Kot, will run from 6 to 9 p.m. in Manhattan. Attendees will delve into the lives and careers of these renowned artists, exploring how each uniquely transformed dance as an art form.
The evening will feature an interactive presentation on the groundbreaking achievements of Sokolow, Rubinstein, and Naharin, followed by a movement workshop inspired by their distinct styles. COJECO encourages all ages to attend, with participants advised to come dressed in comfortable clothes and shoes for full engagement in the experience.
Tickets, priced at $36, include workshop admission and a post-event reception. This COJECO Adult Jewish Education program is supported by the UJA-Federation of New York. For tickets and more information, visit cojeco.org.
