Celebrate the centenary of Giacomo Puccini’s passing with a special lecture and performance event, «Giacomo Puccini a New York: Puccini and Friends in New York,» presented by the Conservatory of Music «Claudio Monteverdi» in Cremona, Italy.
On November 18, 2024, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Fordham University’s Lincoln Center Campus (Franny Room), Roberto De Biasio will share rare insights and discoveries from Puccini’s visits to New York in 1907 and 1910. The lecture, based on documents, letters, and reviews from Italian and American archives, will be followed by a unique piano performance by the outstanding Julliard-trained Dr. Maxim Anikushin (a Russian American who, incidentally, dreams one day of performing with Bukharian-Israeli maestro Bar Haimov), featuring recently uncovered works attributed to Puccini.
Don’t miss this chance to honor one of Italy’s greatest composers in the heart of New York City.
