With the sound of sneakers squeaking across the gym floor and the steady beat of dribbling echoing down the hallways, the JIQ Lions Basketball Team has officially launched its new season—and excitement is in the air.

After a series of intense tryouts and evaluations by Coach Chris, the final roster for the 2025–2026 JIQ Lions has been announced. These ten young men have earned their place not just through talent, but through hustle, teamwork, and heart.
Let’s meet the players who will be representing JIQ Boys’ Middle and High School on the court this season:
2025–26 JIQ Lions Roster
• Noah Niktalov (11th Grade)
• Adam Niktalov (11th Grade)
• Adam Domatov (11th Grade)
• Lior Badalov (10th Grade)
• Yonatan Abramov (10th Grade)
• Yaakov Yadgarov (9th Grade)
• Eitan Mirzakandov (12th Grade)
• Idan Akbashev (12th Grade)
• Yonatan Aranbayev (10th Grade)
• Zavulun Abramov (12th Grade)
Each of these boys brings something unique to the team—whether it’s court vision, defensive grit, outside shooting, or simply the ability to motivate teammates with words and action. Together, they form a balanced, competitive, and energetic squad that is ready to take on the season with confidence.
At the helm of the program is Coach Chris, whose experience and no-nonsense leadership style have already begun transforming practice into purpose. His attention to fundamentals and team chemistry has raised expectations and inspired players to push their limits.
Supporting the team on and off the court is Mr. A, serving as team manager. From scheduling to game prep and morale, Mr. A ensures the Lions stay focused and organized both at practice and on game day.
Behind every successful program is support, and the Lions are grateful to have plenty. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Sassoon, Rabbi Niazoff, and the entire team of JIQ directors and administration, whose unwavering belief in extracurricular growth has made this program possible. Their encouragement reminds us that chinuch doesn’t stop at the classroom door—it lives in teamwork, effort, and character.
In the weeks ahead, the Lions will face off against schools across the region. But win or lose, one thing is certain: when these boys step onto the court in their jerseys, they represent more than a team. They represent a yeshiva rooted in values, discipline, and brotherhood.
So as the whistle blows and the ball tips off, we say to our Lions:
Play hard. Play smart. Play as a team. And make us proud.
Sponsorship opportunities are available, and Maaser money can be used.
