As the 2025 New York City mayoral election approaches, young Bukharian Jews have a critical choice to make about the future of our neighborhoods, our schools, and our families.
Our community has always valued stability, education, and safety—principles that allow us to build strong Jewish homes and raise the next generation with pride.
Andrew Cuomo’s campaign speaks directly to those values. His priorities such as public safety, affordability, housing, childcare, and economic opportunity are exactly what hardworking Bukharian families need. Cuomo’s long record of leadership shows that he knows how to run government effectively and get results.
For a community that cherishes both Torah and education, his experience and pragmatism offer a path toward security, dignity, and continuity in an increasingly uncertain city.
Cuomo’s main opponent, Zohran Mamdani, has made it clear that he intends to dismantle the city’s support for all charter schools, a stance that poses an alarming threat to the Jewish community. Eliminating charter school funding would sever vital educational resources that directly and indirectly support our yeshivas and Jewish institutions.
The result would be catastrophic: skyrocketing tuition costs, greater financial strain on parents who already work tirelessly to provide a Torah-based education, and an exodus of children from yeshivas into public schools.
For a community that views Jewish education as sacred, this is not just a policy difference, it’s a matter of survival.
Supporting Andrew Cuomo isn’t about politics; it’s about protecting our future, preserving our values, and ensuring that New York remains a city where Bukharian Jews can continue to flourish with pride and peace of mind.
